CAM Foundation supports organizations making a difference in underserved communities. We look to partner with programs that assist at-risk youth both inside and outside the classroom, promote academics and provide much needed mentoring to students. By creating these opportunities, we help students stay focused on their education and help them succeed both in school and in life. We want the dollars that we give to have a powerful impact on the community. To that end we seek out students, as well as organizations, that are making a difference in an innovative way:
CAM’s Scholarship Program – CAM’s Scholarship Program provides scholarships for students in underserved communities to continue their education at colleges, universities and trade schools. Our goal is to increase the number of recipients and the size of the awards every year to assist as many deserving students as possible. To find out more about our scholarship program, click here.
“I would like to personally thank CAM for its generous support. The scholarship provided me with opportunities and made my collegiate career that much easier. CAM Foundation has been a blessing and it has been a privilege to have met the individuals connected with CAM. Therefore I would like to say thank you and I wish nothing but the best to each and every one of you who are responsible for CAM Foundation.”
— Jeremiah Allison, Student-Athlete Washington State University
UCLA Black Alumni Association Scholarships – CAM has supported this organization for the last several years by providing funds specifically for scholarships. In addition, CAM had the unique opportunity to fund a recruiting video that captured Coach John Wooden’s last recorded interview. The video is used to target African-American students interested in attending UCLA. This was a project that very much aligned with CAM’s philosophy. John Wooden lived by the following principles “Be true to yourself”,“help others” and “give thanks for your blessings”. We embrace those same principles at CAM.
Girls W.I.N. (Women Impacting the Nation) – CAM provided uniforms for an all-girls softball team in Los Angeles called the Virtue League. This amazing team is comprised of motivated, student-athletes in grades 7-12 who are required to maintain a B-average and perform community service.
The Brotherhood Crusade – CAM most recently participated in The Brotherhood Crusade’s “Books and Basketball” camp as a sponsor and a speaker. The program reaches 150 students and has a math and science component, along with a financial literacy module. In addition, CAM was thrilled to contribute to the expansion of their highly successful after-school, weekend, and summer program so an additional 50 low-income students, ages 9-18 could participate.
Team Heal – CAM understands how important it is for student-athletes to receive the quality medical care that TEAM Heal provides. The organization brings full-time athletic training, mentoring and academic support to high school athletes. The organization focuses on four high schools in the Los Angeles area: Crenshaw High, Banning High, Carson High and Westchester High. At these schools, TEAM Heal is able to reach student-athletes from underserved populations that have a great deal of potential and promise. In addition to quality medical care, TEAM Heal provides college scholarships for the amazing and talented athletes it serves. CAM believes this organization truly embodies its philosophy of nurturing well-rounded students inside and outside the classroom.
